Amplifies the signal but with some noise. Can't amply the signal more than 50-60% strength on the TV without generating too much noise stopping the picture. Does work as an amplifier, but be careful with noisy signals. Helped me split the antenna signal at an outlet. I would have preferred F-type connectors, but PAL connectors do work, but can slip out if moved.
