I bought this to replace the SOD on a Mk8 Civic (UK hatchback spec) which only had one folding mirror following the previous owner clipping the wing mirror and allowing water ingress. It took about 5 minutes to install with no tools, I would definitely recommend if you have this issue!

    Sorted my problem.

    My 2010 Civic Type R developed a fault where only the drivers side mirror would fold in when pressing the button. The left would do absolutely nothing. After doing some research, I found that replacing the guilty part (the shut-off device) would more than likely fix my issue. I found the part I needed here and decided to give it a go. It only took me a few minutes to remove the mirror cap and swap out the faulty SOD - now both my mirrors work! It's quite reassuring that August Motors have a presence here, as it gives confidence that the part is genuine will hopefully last. Really happy all in all, not as expensive or difficult to replace as you might think.

    2008 Honda civic type s gt Sod for electronic folding mirrors

    I got these for my 2008 honda civic type s gt and they work great they are really easy to change yourself (I watched a couple if videos on YouTube) I got these because I had to press my wing mirrors in and out about 30 times to get them to fully fold in (I'm still not used to doing it just once yet 😂) I'd definitely recommend A+

    Civic 08 type r gt sticky mirror

    Solved the problem very quickly. Bit tricky to get the covers off but once off was a simple process to fit. Only 1 side was playing up but decided to do both as the other side would have gone awol in the end.

    Honda Shut Off Device (SOD)

    I bought a pair of these to replace my faulty SOD after my attempts to repair it didn’t go to plan. It’s much harder than the YouTube video makes out! However, replacing these little units is much easier than trying to fix your old one. These appear to be well made and are a direct replacement for the original. Definitely a good purchase.
