    Handles a lot of lights!!!

I chose this timer switch because it handles up to 1500 watts. I just removed all the florescent lights in my shop basement and replaced them with LED. After leaving the lights on over the weekend twice I decided now was the time to get a timer. It works perfect! Im running around 18 LED flood lights at 50Watts each, so around 900 watts total, No issues. This switch does require power so if you had a light switch jumper as I did (only one black wire to complete the circuit on a singlepole switch) then you will need to run a power lead as well. In short you need a white wire and a black wire. My only gripe is the switch is backwards. It should be that if you turn it a little its a little time, turn it a little more and its a little more time. But in reality you have to turn it a full ...

The knob is designed to turn the wrong direction

The reason I wanted to replace some wall switches with a timer was because lights were sometimes being forgotten to be turned back off when not in use. These timers can only be turned clockwise so therefore start at 60 minutes and the farther you turn it, the shorter the time it will be set to stay on. It must be turned a great distance to be set at 5 or 10 minutes so I know this will never happen if they can't flip a switch back off. I was expecting the opposite. I might as well leave the wall switch alone as I have a better chance of having a closet light (for example) being shut back off in a few minutes than I do of the knob being turned completely to 5 minutes.

  • Waste of money

Timer does not stop at zero, it continues past and turns back on for another hour. Off for four minutes and on for 60, all night long. Unless you slide the switch to OFF. That defeats the whole purpose of putting in a timer. Took it out, put old switch back in and threw this piece of junk in the trash. Do your research, i am not the only person who has had this problem, only wish I had researched it myself before I bought one.

  • timer switch

wiring can be a little tricky if you have a box with more than one switch or outlets. Be sure you have the feed hot (black) and return (White ) connected to the feed source. Then whatever fan, lights connected to the red. These timers look nice, easy to set., keep bath fans from running too long and sucking your AC out.
