    • Does most jobs on car wiring - power lead too short for some jobs.

      It struggled with one of the soldered joints I was trying to make (but managed it eventually) but the cable was several sq mm so I really needed a mains iron. A Bernzomatic gas torch with soldering bit attachment also couldn't cope with that one particular joint. For the rest of the soldering I did this iron worked just fine. If you are not working directly under the bonnet the power lead will be too short to reach the car's battery so you will need to take your battery off the car and move it to where you want to work or use a second car battery which might be unrealistic for most people. It is good enough to now have a permanent place in my car's tool box. If you can find an alternative iron with a long power lead I would go for that otherwise you might end up making an ...
