As others have stated the shearers have minimal plastic. The only plastic part is the safety lever. The quality is satisfactory considering it also includes postage. Trimmed the edges of lawn effectively and seem they will last a fair while. The shearers are not heavy. I would have preferred that they were packaged with some padding ie bubble wrap for protection. The firm plastic package had a tear ... presumably due to casual handling during transit.
