GTM 36 great traffic status option w/compatible Garmin GPS
The Garmin GTM 36 (discontinued by mfg) works great with Garmin 2495LMT GPS (also discontinued). Also, the 2495LMT is not compatible with iphone mobile traffic app for real time traffic status, but the GTM 36 provides relatively real status ( minutes vs. seconds w/app) .

Good Power Cable
I purchased this cable to use with my new Garmin Drive 52 GPS and it works well and is recognized by the GPS unit. I don't live in an area covered by the traffic info that can be provided by this traffic sensor, but I'm sure that when out traveling in places around Atlanta that it will announce or show areas of construction, accident, or other info that can assist finding an alternate route, if needed. I have an older Garmin, probably from 12 years that had traffic with a different model traffic cable and that worked very well , so I can only assume this different one and the Drive 52 will be just as good.I purchased this cable to use with my new Garmin Drive 52 GPS and it works well and is recognized by the GPS unit. Good accessory for Garmin GPS: Live Traffic without tethering your phone.
With this cord, I don't need to use my phone to connect my Garmin GPS to live traffic updates. I have tired it out and it is working perfectly with my GPS and providing timely traffic data. I prefer to leave the Bluetooth off on my phone because that saves battery and I have no other use for the Bluetooth. I used to have a TomTom GPS that came with a traffic receiver cord--I wish Garmin units did, too. The Garmin price for the GTM 36 is exorbitant, but I got it for less than half that amount--no box but new and works perfectly.With this cord, I don't need to use my phone to connect my Garmin GPS to live traffic updates.
