  • CG125 PERFORMANCE BOOST

    If you type in “Tuning CG125” into the internet you get many opinions and ‘advice’ on how to make your CG or Chinese derivative go faster. Most of them are wrong. The CG design just has one cam which works on both inlet and exhaust alternately, so if you changed the cam profile it affects both valves and that’s not what you want. You can modify the ports but if you don’t know what shape they need to be, then it’s guesswork. The easiest way to get more poke is to increase the capacity. What Colin has done with his 190cc kit is just that. The kit includes everything needed apart from the larger crankcase mouth. This is best done by a machine shop, local engineering shop or someone who can do rebores. You can do it yourself, with care, and a Dremel. But go slowly. Because of the camshaft ...
