Back saver!
The Canon Rod Holders are excellent, but in my application, my boat has a relatively low gunnel wall, so every time I need to set or retrieve a rod from the holder, I had to bend down or lean forward towards the water. Not a serious problem, but I'm a firm believer in Murphy's Law: "If something can go wrong, it will go wrong" ans if conditions are right, a person could lean too far to get to a rod reacting to a stike. These extensions raise the rod to the perfect height! I also use one on the Canon universal fish finder mount to raise my Hummingbird Piranha 2 finder, which is attached to a bow mounted electric trolling motor, to make seeing it so much easier!
