Notes
In this classic LP, the crowning achievement in his greatest year, Peterson doesn't just interpret these songs - he immortalizes them. Along with great performances of "Georgia on My Mind," "The Honeydripper" and "I Got It Bad (And That Ain't Good)," the famous title track is presented here with an additional take, and there are 5 other previously unissued tracks. • Very good piano

If you like piano and low analogue hissing in the background, this is the one for you. I heard the whole CD. The bass isn't under mic'd and sounds just right. The drums are great too. There isn't much depth to the soundstage, but there are only 3 instruments so it is good. Oscar doesn't just play fast all the time for no reason and everything done in the group makes sense. Fun to listen to on headphones.

  • Night Train is wonderful

I bought this disc originally for the track "C Jam Blues" but I discovered so much more. Peterson and his trip play a variety of tempos and melodies with great precision. This is a very musical album.
