Of course this is the book to have for understanding TeX. But it's also a fun read.

    • I had to replace it

I had a fire in my office and the TeX book was the only one I replaced.. I was so glad that I could find it. TeX is for programmers only and is a pre-MS Word typesetting programming language. It produces beautiful texts and you have superb control over what you are trying to accomplish. I have used it and loved it for a long time.
