High quality product, we'll made, simple to use

This was to replace a smaller diameter ExpoDisc that I have had for several years. ExpoDisc makes custom WB extremely simple. I am just staring to shoot with IR so will be interested to see if ExpoDisc works for WB in IR (ExpoDisc user info states it is for visible light WB).

  • Works Pefectly. Quality Construction Better than the Newer 2.0 Version.

This ExpoDisc is so much better than the newer 2.0 version. That one uses a plastic ring which is bulkier. It looks and feels much cheaper and flimsier than the this one. If you can pick up this Original ExpoDisc at $50 or less grab it. They were close to $200 when they first came out. It takes a little pracice to get perfect results depending on your lighting conditions. Outdoors it works great almost everytime. You just need to use it correctly. Some people feel it's a bit too warm at times but I've not had that experience.

  • Simple yet powerful

Wasn't sure the effect this would have, but it produced highly accurate — if not perfect — white balance. I did not have to touch the temperature dial in post. What a time saver. Even using two different brand cameras, I never had to make a temperature adjustment. Wish I had started using these earlier!

  • Best gadget you can get

This disc is awesome, so convenient, I just use it as a lens cap on one of my lenses, if you combine it with an xume magnetic ring, you can snap it off in a flash.

  • Speed up your workflow; remove the guessing.

I bought this because I needed a larger version (77mm) which could work for 77mm-f-ilter size and smaller lenses. I like expodiscs over grey cards mainly because the workflow is a lot faster and less prone to error, thanks to the custom white balance functions in DSLRs and compact digital cameras. There are still a few scenarios where a greycard will be the better choice, but now I carry the expodisc everywhere.
