This is an interesting history of the Tour de France. Each year is distilled into 2-4 pages of "hi-lites". It's a good way to learn some of the racing greats names and the politics that goes with the race. As a rider, I was a little disappointed that there was very little technological information, in bike makes, evolution of components etc. After reading through each "era", I'd search in youtube for footage, which gave a reality to the race that complimented the book.

I LOVE this book. Not only are there some great pics, but what I'm really enjoying are the super articles about some of the greats of cycle racing in a huge variety of races. I like that this book goes FAR beyond just the Tour de France. Neat book. I would HIGHLY recommend.
