    Faultlines

    Artist's first release as an individual performer,and a very strong cd some tracks not as connected to,but at least 4 or 5:that will go back to,and any lpnor cd that has three or more songs of worth,is a winner

    This is a beautifully crafted album.

    Acclaimed debut solo album from the Scottish singer/songwriter - winner of three Radio 2 Folk Awards. "A songwriter of rare power". Karine Polwart has the kind of voice that commands attention. Rich and powerful, folky with a country, bluesy feel. On this her first and long overdue solo album she has written all the songs and they are great, proving her credentials as talented and thoughtful writer. The opening track "Only One Way" is a taster for a very fine album indeed.

    Karine is a troubadour philosopher, a bard of rare excellence. Her songs are full of profound truths and wicked humour. She makes music that seizes your attention with its variety and skill. She will make you think again about the way things are and how they could be. The tunes enter your soul and never leave again. Listen and listen once more, you will never tire of this groove of folk fare. Do I like it ; I love it to pieces.
