About this product

Product Information

The third Yu-Gi-Oh! title to appear on the GBA in the U.S., Yu-Gi-Oh! Worldwide Edition: Stairway to the Destined Duel offers seasoned veterans of the series updated rules and more than 1,000 cards. Like its predecessors, this iteration thrusts players into a series of battles, this time under the guise of the Battle City Tournament. As an anonymous duelist, players begin the title by selecting a deck from the three offered (Red, Green, and Black), before setting out to stake their claim as the best Duelist in the world. Like Yu-Gi-Oh! The Eternal Duelist Soul before it, every significant action taken, be it talking to one of the locals or dueling, advances the calendar by a single day, and particular duelists, events and tournaments will only take place on certain days and only once certain conditions have been met.

With that in mind, players will need to explore the various districts that make up Battle City, in order to seek out rare duelists and more powerful cards. To aid you on your quest, each week your character is rewarded with five new cards, courtesy of a subscription to 'Duelist Weekly.' As an added bonus, every defeated opponent yields a new booster pack for your deck. The Card Import system returns in this iteration, allowing players who own the physical decks to import their cards by inputting the codes printed on each one. In keeping with the global theme of the title, English, Spanish, French, Japanese, German, and Italian are supported languages. Yu-Gi-Oh! Worldwide Edition: Stairway to the Destined Duel also allows players to link-up; doing so facilitates card trades and battles against human opponents. As an added incentive, the game comes packaged with three exclusive limited edition trading cards.

    A dirt cheap strategy game

I am playing stairway to Duel Destined I love it on Gba. It is a good game to polish up your skills at the card game. The flaws are dueling can get repetitive, and the only way to duel the Rare Hunters which are the antagonists of the game is, by dueling the same people over and over again. It is like Eternal Duelist soul but you can battle any duelist in any order you please.

Only giving it 4 stars because on initial start up it came to a blank white screen. Upon starting a new game it froze after a few seconds. Cleaned the cartridge with Isopropyl Alcohol and then game started up and was able to play for a good bit. Seems to be working properly after cleaning cartridge.

  • For Yu-Gi-Oh fans only!!!

This game seems like a good match for Yu-Gi-Oh fans only because it does not really have a story. All you do in the game is just build your deck with new cards by winning duels and then fighting tougher and tougher opponents. In my case, I could spend hours doing so and I believe that it stands well in the line of Yu-GiOh games. Also, it works really just as the card game, something that games like duelists of Roses did not give you. You also do not start with the worst of decks, so winning will not seem impossible from the first second on. In conclusion, this is a must for any Yu-Gi-Oh fan who already knows the game and only wants to play without any didtractions. The story has minimal impact on the game and you feel like it doesn't really carry a story. But all in, I still believe it ...
