My husband and I love this cookbook! Several recipes in it have become staples. We bought it when we were newlyweds just learning to cook, and her detailed but sensible explanations of how and why to cook things a certain way were super helpful. I like the format, which has an explanation of a technique or recipe and then usually includes several variations on a basic recipe. I would recommend the book to anyone who likes to cook good and fairly simple meals. Pam Anderson is a very clever cook with plenty of smart ideas to share with anyone!
Focuses on a dish and then showcases it in several ways, i.e. Green Beans - simply steamed, steam-sauted w/ bacon vinegar and thyme, sauted w/ mushrooms, thyme and sour cream, sesame green bean salad, etc., or Salmon - broiled whole, grilled w marinating variations, poached with ginger and cilantro, etc. very interesting, not complicated, I like it.
I need it a cook book and acording to the description it sounded like what I was looking for. I can't tell you to much because I still have not receive the book, but I'm pretty sure it's worth it.
