Soundavo HP-DAC1 dac and integrated amp
I purchased the soundavo new in about April 2020, and have used it ever since for my Philips Fidelio X2HR headphones (which are only 32ohm). It wasn't totally necessary to have an amp, they can be powered easily without, but the dac works well to eliminate all noise from my pc and Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One. I have connected the DAC1 to multiple sources without issue. Switching between sources is quick. Clearly eliminates noise, improves quality. I get way more than enough volume in any circumstance, and rarely need to go past 12-o-clock. Update: I've since also used the DAC1 with several other headphones, including Audioquest Nighthawk and the vintage classic AKG Sextett (600ohn). It powers the Nighthawk well, but I feel like there's some power lacking for the AKGs. I don't really ... I don't really foresee buying other hard to drive headphones, and many new cans are relatively easy to drive, so that's not looking like an issue. I have no doubt this dac/amp can power many headphones well. Build is excellent. A very thick metal housing that doesn't flex at all, but I dont know why they allowed the faceplate to sit high (there's a noticeable top lip) which may impede stacking with other equipment. I am curious whether I can hook up an EQ unit to this. I chose this unit because of the variety of inputs (usb, rca, optical (though I would have liked to see a phono/turntable ground, but that's not present), and front facing buttons/ 1/4in jack. It has fallen off my console once by accidental pull, with no ill effects. The four feet, though rubber, are not very grippy. A little dust on your console and it slides easily (keep it tidy). I ended up placing it on a small mouse pad, which keeps it from sliding around if I happen to pull the cord a little too taunt. The one tiny negative about this set was the included 1/4in to 3.5mm adapter. It was too loose, created a bit of static, and I ended up tossing it. I had a few extras lying around, so that wasnt a big deal, but I think they should examine their adapter and replace it. Overall I'm very satisfied and have no hesitation in recommending the Soundavo DAC1 for general headphone, iem, pc/gaming, desktop use. Should I get into balanced cans, I might upgrade (I've been eyeing the Zen 2), but as yet this has served me well.

Now that's a DAC!
The price and performance were both wonderful. Setup? What setup? Plug it in, turn it on, you're done! Versatile, sounds great, good specs, easy to use, well built. Love it! Do read the manual though, for a better understanding of everything this unit does.

Solid amp for power hungry headphones
I'm using this product mostly as a headphone amp. It has great power to drive my 80 ohm Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro. Very low noise and clean sound. I can't get into the sound quality of the DAC part of the function, as I don't listen to hi-res source. Build quality is very solid.
