This review is not about the songs on this recording. We all know them. You either like them already or not. Although the rating is marked excellent, there is an issue you should know. During the process of making this special disc, the first 3 notes of "Band on the Run" were cut off. A corrected version was produced in the super size jewel case with a yellow bar down the spine, but most of them DO NOT have a corrected disc in the case, (even according to DTS Entertainment who produced it). If the disc is purple, (the color you see on the disc when you open the case), it's NOT the corrected version, if it's yellow, it supposedly is. I think it irresponsible for the manufacturer to send them out incomplete and then claim it was corrected but was not. Aside from that, everything else is excellent. You will not be disappointed. Although the DTS sound does not match up to a DVD-Audio High Resolution recording, (which there is none for Band on the Run), it is still very powerful and it is in surround sound! That really makes a difference. It's like listening to it for the first time. Sounds you may not have ever heard, or heard clearly before are very prominent. It's clean and sharp sounding without being to tinny, (needing to reduce treble). It is far superior to another Wings recording on a DTS disc, Venus and Mars. The channeling is odd, the sound is somewhat muffled, distorted, and inconsistent. A few tracks sound better than others. That is partly why you can get a Venus and Mars for $20 or so but Band on the Run commands a premium price, $40-$60 used and $100 or more sealed. Since it's impossible to know what colored disc is in the case I can't give a price but an opened yellow disc can sell for as much as $300, (I know because I sold one for that much). I suggest buying a purple disc used IF you can be sure it's in perfect shape. I hate any marks, scuffs, scratches, etc, on my CD's. It might play on one person's machine but not on yours. Be sure to always ask questions before you buy! I've bought discs off e-bay that were in "mint" condition only to get it scratched or damaged in some way. One time a disc even had dried food on it. One last note, be sure your DVD player has a DTS decoder otherwise you will likely only get stereo which makes having a DTS disc senseless. Thanks for reading.Read full review
This is a great album - one I've always wanted after I got over the break-up of the Beatles. A few of the tracks don't have very good 5 channel separation, but the one's that do are stunning.

Gift recipient was thrilled to receive this CD. This review is going to be short, since the product was a Christmas gift to my brother and I'm not familiar with the CD personally.
