Cassette recorder has more input jacks than most, including external Mic jack. It also has volume and a tone control. Tape counter that lets you know where you are on your tape. Speaker sounds good with full fidelity, not tinny. Has a built in Mic. Also has pause, and cue and review. Runs an AC power or "C" batteries. Auto stop at end of tape.

I have old Bible teaching cassette tapes that I listen to frequently. I busted my old player, and I've been buying several models to replace the one I busted. This Radio Shack CTR-121 VOX Activation Desktop Cassette Recorder is the best one. My cassette tapes are old, but this player sounds life-like and true to the original voice. It's just as if my deceased pastor is standing right next to me, teaching the Word like I remember it years ago. There is no distortion. Aside from a slight humming sound from the guts of the recorder, I only hear my tape. It runs at the correct speed (not too fast). The player also has a counter and a "tone" dial (like treble and/or bass). It's easy to operate and shuts off automatically when the tape is done rewinding. Cassette players are getting harder and harder to find. This is the best one of them all. Read full review

CTR-121 is good cassette player. It can be difficult to find parts, as it's discontinued, but is one of the easiest to use. I particularly like the review (FF/REW) functions.

Usually one might say this about a relationship however this cassette recorder is the best I've ever used and am sorry to hear that it no longer will be made thanks to technological advances that do NOT take into consideration, the older generation that enjoys things as they have been for years.

I'm happy I chose this recorder. It's exactly what I needed it for. While it seemed to take forever to come it turns out that it was worth the agonizing wait.

So far, so good. I haven't used it much yet, but I am so happy to have an old fashioned tape recorder. I may order more.

Bought this product to replace an older CTR-121 that had worn out after a few years of almost daily use (1-2 hours per day). Note - The newer models of this recorder don't have the Cue and Review functions that the older CTR-121 models have. I use these functions quite a bit when listening to old cassette tapes (mostly religious sermons not transferred to CD). It's very difficult to find cassette recorders anymore, and extremely difficult to find one that has the Cue and Review functions.
