lost my old remote, searched using the stereo model number, remote was the exact same as the one i lost . i didnt realize how worn out my old remote was until i got the new one, for 10 dollars i should have replaced it a long time ago, i forgot what some of the buttons did because the printing had worn off . It's large enough that I don't keep accidentally hitting the wrong button by mistake and small enough to fit in my center console or the space in the dash beneath my radio. The buttons on the in-dash unit are so small, especially while driving. The remote makes operation of the unit much easier. Kenwood also has a remote control app that you can install on a cell phone. I will also be looking into that.
