Runs Great!
I got this DVD player/recorder used and it works like a new one, it has a perfect picture and good audio, the only draw back is that the fast forward is slower than a VHS but that may be the norm for a DVD player as I have never had one before. BUT all and all it was well worth the price. even with no remote, the buttons work perfect for turning it on and off and starting and stopping it.

May not work with all media
The only issue I have with this recorder is that it only works with certain media. It works fine with some older DVDs I have, but not a newer, inkjet printable DVD. Both are DVD-R, 4.7 GB, 16x. I don't see a difference in the specs, but the player seems to. And it just gives a very generic error message that isn't helpful.

Disappointing Product
I have attempted to make 2 different units work with no success. Apparently there was an update available for the firmware that can no longer be found. The unit is very finicky on what media needs to be used, and Samsung's customer support us unable to provide support. Very disappointing product for Samsung.

Samsung is King of DVR's!
The playback picture is the best I have ever seen for a recorded show/movie. With DVD-RW disks, you can record, erase, and record again. I have 5 of this exact unit, the price has come down, I recommend getting one. Samsung makes the best DVR; Panasonic makes the best VCR. Do not get a Panasonic DVR, I know whereof I speak.

Review on Samsung R120
This was not a bad product, but the composite out didn't work to view it on my TV. It was real troublesome using the component, because I needed the composite audio cables for audio. Also there was a time it didn't power up. I had to switch outlets.
