    Flimsy but works ok

The unit is made of flimsy plastic. Loading the primers is somewhat difficult and the open/close lettering is the same as the unit and very difficult to read. It comes apart easily and seems to barely hold together. The primer feed head sometimes doesn't drop the primer, then on the next try, it pushes two and one drops on the floor. That said, it seems to hold together, and for the drawbacks, it feeds the primer seat arm much faster than by hand. How long it will last is anyone's guess, but I have put several hundred primers through it, and it does work. The primers in the tray do not drop freely and you have to tap the unit to get them to fall into the shute. All in all, it does speed up your reloading time, and for the price, it seems to be worthwhile.

    Great idea, works so-so

If you hand prime and have arthritis, this is a great substitute. It's a little flimsy and I have lost at least 5 primers in 300 so far (223/small rifle), mostly due to poor alignment of the system. I use all Lee components and they work well, but not perfect. Hand priming I will loose less than 1 in 300, mostly because I am not strong enough to crush a primer hand-priming. With the press mounted primer, the leverage is great and easy, leading to crushed primers. But my hands don't hurt and I am still learning. Should get more reliable the more I am using it.

  • it works

It works fine seeing how it came to me with both tray covers cracked, not from shipping I think from factory with someones thrumb while putting the covers on. It was delivered fast the box was not crushed or dented. It is kinda chinchy, I mean dainty like. But then it didn't cost a lot, so can't complain, just have to use it with kid gloves, so I don't break it. I think when I get over the fear of breaking it I will really like it. thank you, and hope everyone has a safe 2016.

  • Lee Safety Prime is simple to use and efficient.

The learning curve for the Lee Safety Prime is quick and easy. Once you have mastered its use, it's a pleasure to use. I have purchased two sets. One set for pistol primers and the other for rifle primers. I do wish the attachment to the press was a bit more robust. Treat it gently like you would any precision tool and you won't have any problems. I have been using Lee products since the late 1950s. I was given a prototype 12 gauge Lee Loader by my grandfather who was friends with Richard Lee. I now own many products manufactured by Lee Precision and have never been disappointed by any of them. It's been interesting and a pleasure to watch the Lee Precision company grow to where it is now. The quality, pricing and customer service is the best in the reloading industry. Thank you Lee ...

  • I dont know...

To me it seems like these Lee primer feeders are hit and miss. I have several friends who reload with the same set up I have. Their safety primes are several years old and came with the round trays and work great. The tray is not the problem however even with the riser on the powder through die it still flicks the tray when the turret press rotates. For the life of me I can not get this thing to set a primer in the cup of the installer but for about once every 4 or 5 tries. I finally gave up and removed it. I've looked the feeder over and it seems fine but the primers either flip sideways or hang and fall on the floor. I will say I have not used the small primer feeder yet. When I get more time I'll finally figure out whats going on with this thing.
