This is a great drill guide for the money. Has a self centering feature that worked pretty good on a door I was drilling. Seems like it's good quality. Turns your hand drill into a mini drill press!

  • Top critical review

    Good tool

For my purposes it works fine. It's certainly not a bench drill press but for small projects that don't require absolute precision, it's good. I needed to drill a 2mm hole into a titanium nut - to drill out the broken off end of the bolt, and this did the job adequately. I also used it to drill holes in some plastic that had 2 pieces that needed to be bolted together so the holes needed to line up exactly. Again, this tool worked adequately. I'm glad I have it in my tool collection. It doesn't take up any space like a bench drill press would. I'd also like to say that the person I bought it from was very responsive to questions.

  • Poorly designed tool. DO NOT BUY!

It's kind of a Micky Mouse Tool that has very limited use. You have to build a base for the machine to use it. You cannot drill very deep with it because the side rails limit travel, so you take the wood out of the machine, disconnect the drill and free hand drill the remaining quarter of the 2 x 4 to finish the job. The drill I put on it is heavy, and you have to lift the drill by force and slide the material under it. The spring on the column is weak. I recommend you redesign the tool correctly. It is like a vacuum tube radio was obsoleted by the transistor.

  • Works well for what I need.

It is fairly sturdy , it has a little play in it , but works well for what I use it for . I wouldn't buy it if you need it to be a precision drill press. It's great that it has the lock in angle settings .
