Thomastik-Infeld Jazz Bass strings long scale

Strings are personal preference first and foremost - i'm not going to tell you these are the best strings ever but rather they are another choice of "tool" to use to achieve a means to an end if wanting more lower mid thump and presence. I placed these on my Fender '62 reissue Jazz Bass (dual concentric passive eq's / volumes) with a replacement fretless ebony board unlined neck. Instantly , i was taken back to that '60's warm MoTown sound. These strings are the warmest i've ever played and they are easy on the fingers - but, i wasn't immediately won over by their feel which is super easy and smooth, but for myself , probably requires me to change up my fingering pull and fretting - which i don't want to pursue at this time. With these strings there is more of a contact to the fingerboard ...

  • Sometimes the price tag is worth it

As others have said, the price of TI's made me hesitate. But once I bought and used them, they ended up lasting much longer than SEVERAL sets of D'Addario Chromes. As a result they turned out to be a real bargain. They feel fantastic and sound incredible, which gives me confidence and even makes me play better. They sound bright and fresh months and even years later. The lower tension was perfect for the thin neck on my Geddy Lee Jazz Bass. Yet they never feel at all sloppy, and they stay in tune. They have a nice growl when dialed in right, which is amazing for flats. Great sustain too. TI's are all I'll ever use now, and I'm saving a bunch of money (and hassle) by not having to swap out sets after a month or two. Pull the trigger on these - you won't be sorry.

  • Best flat wound bass guitar strings

Very responsive strings with a full tonal range. Lower tension with truss adjustment needed increasing neck relief after switch from labella Jamison flats. I've played various flat wounds for 50+ years and these strings are worth a little extra $. Will be vey interested to see how they age, right now I absolutely love them on my fretted jazz bass, likely changemy fretless jazz bass

  • Good flat wound strings very light weight

Good flats, very light weight though. I am pretty heavy handed player and I’m used to heavier strings. I’ve had them on the bass about six months. Really I don’t play that bass very much but so far so good.

  • Always great sound from these strings.

I've been using these strings on ALL my Fender basses for six plus years and they've never let me down. Each time I add another bass to my collection, off come the strings that came with the bass, and on go the Thomastic 344's. Strings are a personal choice, but these suit me, the music I play, and how I play the instrument.
