A Genuine Brother Walking Foot That Really Works!

This is a genuine Brother SA140 Walking Foot that I am using on my Brother DreamCreator XE, model VM5100. I am very pleased. Look, this thing helps move material through the feed mechanism -- it's job is to make dissimilar materials (top and bottom) feed at the same rate. The SA140 does the job quite well. In fact, I tried a cheap knock-off that claimed to be 'compatible' and that was money down the drain. My sewing machine also supports a very expensive motorized dual-feed foot SA196, which is for very thick fabric, but it is 350 bucks. The SA140, at about 50 bucks will do just fine for now. Two thumbs up on this product.

  • Great Walking Foot

I was surprised at the cost of the walking foot when the brand name was so much more expensive. I decided to give this brand a try & am not disappointed. It works great feeding the layers of the baby quilt I am making. I will recommend this item to my friends.

  • Walking foot

This fit my machine perfect and worked very well at a fraction of the cost of the name brand. Highly recommend this item.

  • Great for quilting and pleats

This walking foot is my new favorite attachment. It makes thick fabric projects like pleats and quilting so much easier for my machine and the back side of the fabric stays even and doesn’t pull away from the top.

  • stitch length

I've not used another walking foot, so I have no basis for comparison. I have noticed that the stitches are much shorter than the length set by the machine. Since this is my first quilt, the length of the stitches may have to do with my choice of needles or thread. Using the walking foot on "sample fabrics" show the correct length stitch.
