Nice Features. One slight glitch.
I agree with other reviews that this compass offers nice features especially at the price. Good for sighting and map use. I also found that straight out of the pack the needle seemed to 'ground' one end in an unlikley 'North', and rotated with the bezel. Hardly ideal! It was not bad build quality, it was plain old static attracting the needle to the case and effectively binding it up in some random position. Seen this on analogue meters too, ones with plastic cases. I had a can of Servisol Anti-Static spray around so I sprayed the whole thing and wiped it off with a cotton (not nylon of polyester which will readily generate MORE static!) cloth. Bingo! Compass instantly worked perfectly. If you get one that does this, try the same. A wet cloth, or an anti-static surface cleaner would ... Useable.
Take care as the needle does not float perfectly horizontal. The south end is low. Care is needed to stop it grounding when you naturally try to hold the compass flat. Ok for the price. If your life depends on it. Buy something else.
