      Residue / film on filter surface from foam in case

      There is a very visible layer of residue on both sides of this filter. It comes from the protection foam in the metal case. I tried cleaning it away twice, on both sides with CURA Lens Cleaner fluid. There is still a tiny amount of residue. Will need more cleaning. The glass itself is very high quality. It does not scratch from cleaning, by dragging dust or particles across the glass. It loses 1.3 stops of light, which is pretty good (LEE and Singh-Ray loses 1.6 stops of light). Hoya HD3 is the best (only 0.3 stop), but does not come in sizes greater than 82mm. Next in line is Sigma WR 105mm (0.3 - 0.5 stop), but is a lot more expensive. I use it with the LEE 100mm holder. Would have given 5 stars, but the residue from foam gives only 4 stars. A very good filter for the price!
