I purchased my Siemens EL-34's. They arrived quickly and at a very good price. I am using a mint, Van Alstine upgraded Dynaco Stereo 70 with an Ampex 402 for the front-end. These West German tubes sound as good, or better, than any Philips, Mullard, Amperex, Telefunken EL-34's. Chinese, Slovak and Russian EL-34's are highly INFERIOR to any Western European EL-34; in particular, the (4) SIEMENS EL-34's I purchased here. The listening experience is tantamount to a critic's positive review on the pages of Stereophile or High Fidelity. Regardless of where you think your budget for power tubes are; you absolutely DO get what you pay for. Many have purchased thousands of dollars of East Asian tube audio products, only to blithely listen to the Chinese tubes supplied in them, or are lured by the lower prices of the inferior sounding and build-quality re-issue tubes, or ANY EL-34 produced in the Far East. Bottom Line: You're robbing yourself out of what you 'could' be hearing from your amplifier, as long as you skimp and use inferior, poor-quality tubes from China or Russia. The re-issue Tung-Sols, Mullards and Genalex tubes currently produced are STILL a Russian, or Chinese tube with English writing on them; ergo, they're still junk.Read full review
In my Quicksilver GLA amp these tubes sound great. Detailed and revealing but not bright. The midrange is warm and lifelike, with more presence than most other EL34s. Vocals are magical. Nice harmonics and timbre. Solid base. Big soundstage. Great price for NOS.

In fact I bought a matched pair of Telefunken EL34 power tubes and a pair of Silvania 6SL7GT for the single ended val ve amplifier which my cousin has built for me. I learned that Telefunken tubes were the best to reproduce the musical sounds played but were rare and were difficult to find. I was lucky that I found them in eBay. A matched pair of RSD SIEMENS EL34 vintage tubes that I bought separately were needed for my push-pull valve amplifier Dynakit Stereo 70 to replace old power tubes which came with the unit many years ago.
These tubes in my Luxkit A3500 sound not very good. Definitely not bright, midrange OK but limited soundstage, almost no bass. After more than 30 hours running, these tubes become much much better!
