I love thinkpads. I like their understated ascetic and their reliability. I do primarily office work with a lot of travel so having a great keyboard to do word processing tasks is my number one priority. After that I needed compact dimensions, relatively low weight, and decent battery life. This computer has all that. You can buy the newest generation version of the thinkpad but this works perfectly fine and is much less without feeling like you're getting obsolete equipment. Compared to other laptops it's age it is more costly but as a thinkpad it's going to last significantly longer. Pros: - A great keyboard. It's responsive, well spaced, and with good key travel. - Eraser nib mouse (I love them and hate trackpads) - Solid construction without feeling heavy or clunky - Perfectly adequate for any office and business tasks even though its a last years model (and therefore significantly cheaper). This configuration was with an SSD which is faster and more energy efficient - Looks professional Cons: - Sometimes when I close the lid the computer doesn't go to sleep so I have to make sure I put it to sleep from the start menu. - Thinkpad screens are notoriously mediocre at reproducing an image's color accurately and this one feels like it's no exception. I wouldn't recommend this for graphic editing unless you will be use an external monitor. - Comes equipped with USB 3.0 not Thunderbolt ports. Newer T-470 and T-470s have thunderbolt which makes them a bit more future proof. - This model no longer has hot-swap-able batteries because the batteries are all internal nowRead full review
