I bought one of these back when they first came out, and it's been one of the better keyboards I've purchased over the years for what you can do with it. It's silly to admit, but I rarely ever use the macro keys (G1-G12) for any games I play; but, they're extremely handy for other key combination applications, or just app launcher shortcuts in general (which is what I've been using those keys for). Unfortunately, in buying this keyboard early on, the quality control wasn't as tight, and things did start to degrade fairly quickly after about 2 years of use. Majority of the blue LEDs went out, so I had an involuntarily tie-dye green and blue peripheral; keys would retain oils and sediment from normal use; and the plastic used back then wasn't very hardy. Sufficed to say, in replacing that keyboard with one bought recently, Logitech really made some worthwhile changes that I can see making this second purchase worth it. The keys seem to be coated in a thicker protectant, the palm rest is bit more rugged, and overall the keyboard just seems a lot more hardy then the previous incarnations. Though it's a great keyboard, I wouldn't dare pay the retail price they have it listed at. It's outrageous considering what all is out there these days regarding mechanical keyboards, or other features. But, if you can find it below that, it's worth the purchase from my experience.Read full review

Before I received the G 19 I was using the Logitech Wave. Overall, I have to say I've always been impressed and admiring of Logitech products. Aside from the products themselves, their customer service is also excellent (found out first hand when I had a problem with a gaming mouse). The G19 is without a doubt an excellent keyboard. The keyboard is solidly built but the wrist extension is plastic and on its own seems flimsy. But when put onto the keyboard it provides a good amount of support for your wrist. Typing on the keyboard, if you'll be doing some of that aside from gaming, is a nice experience in and of itself. I enjoyed the keys on the wave but the keys on the G19 are a bit different yet wholly functional. They go down softly and are moderately quiet. The LCD screen is great, it will probably take some time to get used to it but there are quite a few applications it can run, including videos, which make it a nice additional feature that no other keyboard has at this point in time. Controls for the LCD are fairly simple to figure out, overall just a very nice set up. But, this also means that, as pointed out, you will need to connect the keyboard to both a USB and an outlet. Having a bunch of wires running around the keyboard (you can also include the two USB ports that are located on the keyboard itself) is not fun but it is practical and gives you an additional USB port aside from the one the keyboard itself takes up. The wires running from the keyboard are quite long so that the keyboard does not have to be stationary but, obviously, it isn't as comfortable as a wireless keyboard. On the other hand, there's a reason for that, the response time on this keyboard is excellent when compared to my wireless wave which at times lags when I'm typing quickly. The customization options for this keyboard are great. 12 programmable G keys multiplied by three, each of the three can have a different color configuration for the keyboard itself (A LOT of choices as to colors) so when you switch between games you can program different colors for different games, hopefully that will help you remember which color applies to which game and thus which key configuration you've set up. In the end, a great keyboard. But does this justify the price? Honestly, if you can remember all of what this keyboard offers and put to use the lcd and all of the other features offered, then you'd probably agree that the price is justified. If you're like me, someone who probably won't use half the features of this keyboard but likes to know if they're there just in case, then the price is a bit too much.Read full review
This is my 4th Logitech keyboard, and this one is the best… provided it proves to be as durable as the previous 3. The versatile and vivid LCD display is impressive, allowing for animated graphics beyond just the second-hand on the clock, and the performance monitor. Relative to the other Logitech keyboards that I’ve owned, the lighting is much more intense and the variable colors that illuminate the keys are truer to those shown in the palette that the user can select from. I’m a G-key addict even though I’m not a gamer. I find them exceedingly useful as shortcuts to any number of functions --- I only wish that the G19 had more G-keys. The sole negative factor for me (as a person who turns off his PC when it’s not being actively used) is that any device plugged into the keyboard’s USB ports does not shut down when the PC is turned off and the rest of the keyboard’s functions close. Didn’t really want to disconnect/unplug anything after every time the PC was used --- found a fix for this at Lowe’s. Highly recommended as an illuminated keyboard with G-keys.Read full review

Gotta say this keyboard has some great features that I'm glad to get on a luxury keyboard. The color options for the keys are very cool, powered by usb ports is awesome, color lcd is great to have.I can watch Youtube videos when am playing a game and keep up with news feeds, etc., the gamer mode is great ! I also like the music buttons, location on the right upper corner of the keyboard, make it easy to access, basically without going into a lot detail about this product ,my experience with the Logitech G19 keyboard has generally been very positive one and would recommended this to a friend ....
This keyboard is by far the best keyboard I ever used. There are so many good aspects to it that I will have to force myself to be brief in this review. First, the feel - The keys feel very smooth with just the right amount of friction to prevent your fingers from sliding off the keys. The keys resistance is also just right making the keys feel solid but comfortable for long times at the keyboard. Second, Construction - The keyboard is very solidly constructed and has some heft to it which helps in its stability and in quieting the keystrokes. The volume control is a wide wheel with very precise controllability. The wrist pad solidly attaches to the keyboard and is fairly comfortable. Third, Features - Where do I begin? The LCD has to be near the top of my favorites list. It is very clear and can play just about everything you can think of from movies to pictures to news feeds to clips from YouTube and to any other RSS feed you want and much more. You can switch between the LCD applications using its own navigation keys on the keyboard or using the included software. The game keys can be assigned to macros, applications, keystrokes, shortcuts, text blocks, and more. Backlighting can be assigned using a choice of one of 15 colors. There are three special keys that allow you to quickly switch between saved profiles that include game key and color settings. The powered high speed USB ports are very handy for any device that you need to connect.Read full review
