The Genius of Mercer - Presented in 12 Different Tracks
Contrary to prior opinion, I find the recording quality of this CD just as good as any other modern recording. Although this CD was recorded/produced only two years prior to Cinema Paradiso (which I also own and mainly purchased for the track 'Senza Fine' as heard on the movie 'Ghost Ship'), the quality sounds superb on my high-end studio system...and I'm sure that Monica's father Henry will also agree. Monica does an excellent job with one of my most favorite Johnny Mercer songs 'Skylark', and in comparison to Linda Ronstadt's version, I now consider both as about the best two I've heard done. Monica does lyrical justice to 'When October Goes', and also does a great job with (the non-Etta James version) 'At Last', ... Heck, if you like smooth mellow vocals, then just purchase both Monica Mancini CDs...you certainly won't go wrong. BTW, the first review of this CD should be removed, as it was no doubt placed here in error. It inadvertently negatively affects the overall rating of this CD, which I know was not the actual intention of the writer.

Lovely CD
Good CD by Monica Mancini but not up to her more recent CD's. THis one sounds older in that the sound engineering is not as rich, with sub-woofers, as her more recent ones. If you could only buy one, I'd buy CINEMA PARADISO.
