Great modern Pentax flash.
Pentax has done a fine job the in the design of their current systems. Yes, I know they have been bought but the branded equipment is still great. The flash goes on 35mm digital or the 645D and works great. Easy in program and manual exposure.

Everything is OK, thank you. Pentax AF540 FGZ Regular Flash works well, it was delivered fast. P-TTL mode with pre-flash allows for more accurate flash photography. Wireless P-TTL flash is available when used with PENTAX DSLR cameras that support wireless flash operation. On-camera and wireless high speed flash sync is available in P-TTL modes. Manage flash exposure compensation through a simple control dial. Standard TTL flash is available when used with older PENTAX SLR bodies. Auto and Manual modes allow for use with non-TTL PENTAX camera bodies. The LCD display shows the effective range of the flash in P-TTL, TTL and AUTO modes. Top of the line, dedicated flash for Pentax.
Definitely, the best flash for my Pentax. I have the smaller version so it was very easy to pick this one up and start shooting. I like all the features of the flash. This one also came with the umbrella, bracket and defuser so it was and extra bonus.

A step to more interesting photographs
Whilst I haven't made extensive use of this flash accessory my test shots are slowly uncovering its capabilities. It has plenty of power for bounce operation and the wireless function works a treat. I said it is easy to use and it is but it has a lot of options so I'll be learning for a while. I also said that the output is consistent but to be honest I haven't really tested it, it recycles quickly enough for me but that may be subjective. I believe both of these points will be more satisfactory if good quality batteries are used. A number of owners have complained about the weak battery door but it seems fine to me. likewise they have trouble with the lock ring on the shoe mount but mine seems fine. All in all I'm very happy with it but ask me again in a year, I might have more to say. If ...
