    Great price, great sound.

I purchased the Alnico-5 Humbucker sized P-90 pickups to replace the ceramic humbuckers that came stock in an Epiphone Les Paul 100. The purchase was easy, shipping was pretty rapid, considering it had to go coast to coast. I received them today, and had the guitar prepped and ready to go, so I popped them in this afternoon. I have to say, I wasn't expecting much for under $40 for two pickups, but I was thoroughly surprised. The string spacing is spot-on, and they have the punch and bark that I expect from P90s. I think they may be louder than the humbuckers I replaced. And best of all, they are very, very quiet. I've only played through them for a couple of hours, but so far I am thoroughly impressed. An enthusiastic two thumbs up. (Incidentally, I used 330K pots for both tone ...

  • Would buy again

These sound really good. Not true P90s, of course, but a very unique and usable tone that closely mimics. Somewhere between a "vintage" and "hot" sound, but either can be achieved easily. I haven't measured the resistance on these as I really did not care either way for this project. I did, however, find that they sound 'best' in a circuit using 500k tone/250k volume pots with a .022cap. Bridge has a really gritty bite, the neck is the neck but it will clean up pretty well. In a well-shielded/grounded guitar, they are remarkably quiet for cheap, single coil pickups. Covers are chrome-plated plastic, but they seem fine as the finish is fairly strong. However, one of the threaded height adjustment (mounting) holes stripped out upon installation once tightened and under spring pressure. ...

  • Great value for the price...

Replaced pickups in my $140 Firefly guitar and it was a vast improvement over stock. Great value for the price. These are great upgrades for cheap guitars and guitar kits. Don’t try to replace name brand pickups with these as you may not be impressed. Classic p90 sound with maybe slightly less high end.

  • Great Versatility!

Great combo for Bridge/Neck. Bridge has great clarity under slightly overdrive and heavy drives, solo notes bloom really well. Combine both for clean warm chimes. Neck is great for that blues Jazz and whatever else one can come up with. For the price, I’m not complaining great for Les Paul’s and Eli’s or whatever else.

  • Great tone, small price.

Put these in my 2007 Les Paul Studio. I was looking for that classic blues rock tone and these nailed it! Through my Hot Rod DeVille, these bring out the bass and treble tones, adding awesome sustain and when I dial in the gain, I get that awesome low growl! Best value in pick-ups out there, we'll see how long they last.
