MK Machining Makes Quality Products.
I was surprised at how small it is but once installed on the Picatinny rail, you understand why: It is made that way so as not to protrude past the parallax knob on the left or the windage knob on the right, depending on your left-handed or right-handed shooting preference. Setting it up on the family dining room table is not the same as real world conditions at the range so be prepared to make adjustments at the bench. I have not taken mine out yet but I am sure it will be changed more forward or backward once I get into my shooting position. Because of the ergonomics in the human body, adjust it to your favored position, either for prone or benchrest. If you switch, things change like viewing angle and focus as our head changes in either position. Same thing for forward/backward ... This is a fixed-piece design as there are no swivel hinges or spring-loaded ball and detent mechanisms as those will wear over time and eventually loosen up enough to induce error. In testing it out in the house, I leveled the scope on a target and I thought I was right on the money----until I glanced at the bubble. I was off! I subconsciously used the terrain and matched the horizontal line of the reticle to it and thought it was level but was not. With everything else being perfect mechanically, a 2½º cant just by itself will cause a round to strike ½ mil off at 100 yards and that is 1.8". Extrapolating that out, at 1,000 yards, it comes to 18'' if all holds true and this is just induced cant, not wind or scope/bore mis-alignment. I feel it was money well spent as it is a billet constructed piece of gear with one part and that is the setting screw and it only takes about 5 inch pounds to secure it properly. Getting into longer range target shooting, I feel this was a good choice for the rifle. Tried adding a photo but it says ''add larger size.'' I don't know how to do that.
