USB Fingerprint Reader. The reader is not the same as the listing pictures. It's the same height, but is wider and longer. The sensor is more of a narrow strip. The enclosure sides are not straight, but have a slope like the other two sides. Build quality is ok, not great. The sensor is a Chipsailing CS9711 according to Windows 10, it comes up in Device Manager as "ChipSailing Fingerpint UsbDriver". It works fine and accepts my registered fingers and rejects my unregistered fingers.

I was a bit uncertain about a getting a cheap scanner. It definitely doesn't catch the edges of my finger well, but it is very quick if you get the right spot. Drivers come via Windows update so if it doesn't work straight away, just check for updates in Windows settings.

    A good fingerprint reader for Windows but drivers and instructions should be supplied with it and are not.

    I initially couldn’t get this device to work until I worked out that I needed to download a Dell Avango Biometric Fingerprint Reader driver for it. After that, Installation was easy enough provided you go to the Windows Hello section of Windows Settings, train the device with your fingerprints and then select the “only use this device to login to Windows” option. Then everything works perfectly. Recommended!

    Forget that login.

    This small device plugs into your computer, sets itself up, and works straight up. Not only does it work straight away, but actually improves with each use. Very strongly recommend.
