    A turn on to Black Powder revolvers.

    I wish I had this book just as I got involved in black powder revolvers. It is probably the bible on the metamorphis of the revolver. The full size pictures I did not expect. They in themselves are five star. My Grandsons are becoming interested in BP and this book will serve me well as I instruct them on loading, shooting, as each model of weapon has its own characteristics of which the colored pictures will help. The bottom line is that after ten years into BP pistols, the author provides an accurate history of who, when, how and why they were developed which took me a decade to stumble across. The bottom line is that the book is worth every nickel.

    Excellent Colt resource

    The photography alone is worth the price. A very comprehensive cataloging of second and third generation Colt percussion revolvers, something that us fanatics of those firearms have needed for quite some time. The not-as-great: the text needs substantial editing. Numerous sentence structure errors, punctuation errors, and various grammatical missteps take the tone down somewhat, but overall does not detract from the quality of this book.
