  • Meaty and thought provoking

C.S. Lewis is definitely one to read. He was and is a blessing to anyone who makes themselves available to his writings. The Abolition of Man is a short book (about 90 pages), but it is packed with intelligent and perceptive insights into humanism and it's trajectory. Although written many years ago, he accurately predicts much of the intellectual confusion which we see today in our world. Unless you have studied or at least read some classics, you may find yourself googling statements which he quotes, but even if you do not you will get a lot of perspective from this little book. Hillsdale College has a class on C.S.L. which starts by focusing on this book, and it is a good thing.

  • Great Find

C.S. Lewis is brilliant and is extremely relevant in these confusing, conflicted times that we are living in. I would recommend this read to anyone who has a serious interest in how life should be lived. By the way, the book was in extremely great physical condition, as well, which makes reading it a joy; like new!

  • By an intellectual for intellectuals.

I liked the book. CS Lewis was very much an intellectual and very philosophic. The book is full of deep thoughts and is, at times, a slow read. So if you're not up to it, the book can make your brain hurt.

  • Argument for both the need and basis of truth

I like how this book deals philosophically with the needs for absolute truth, not as a desire of man but as a basis for thought itself. Sound controversial? It is! It is a very small book (one of C. S. Lewis' shortest) and can be speed through in a day or half of day if you're fast. My favorite part was the use of the appendix to show commonality in human conscience throughout widely different cultures that have had no contact with each other, yet instituted almost identical rules and law.

  • The Abolition of Man

The Book is awesome. A very easy read. Well written.
