    The price, quality and look of the cable was great. At first, I couldn't get the cable to work but with the right cable software driver everything worked. I didn't know these cables have a chip in them which is why you need the right driver. Was used for the RT Systems software which they have plenty of help on YouTube.

    Programming my VX-7R

    First of all, I needed to re-program my second-hand VX-7R and therefore needed a programming cable. After buying it on Ebay and receiving it at home it worked almost directly on Windows 10 (lot of those cheaper programmingcables seems (as I read) to have problems on Windows 10) so that was good and therefore it is a good buy. The next thing was to get it working with the software. I'm using VX7-commander and that is working fine for programming the radio. So I can recommend this cable for using it with the Yaesu VX-7R (because that is my only experience).

    Easy to use cable for programming my VX-7r with Chip and VX commander.

    The cable worked fine with my VX-7r. I used it to program my VX-7r using both Chirp and VX7 Commander software. The picture of the listing shows a CD but actually no CD was delivered, nor was it needed because Win10 already recognized the USB device (it's just a USB serial device). Both Chirp and VX-7 commander can be downloaded for free. A word of warning: Do not over-tighten the cable when you screw it into the VX-7 because you will break the cable. This not the fault of the cable but rather the overall design of VX-7 audio socket which makes it hard to know when you have the cable fully seated. Snug is enough.

    Works Without Special Drivers under Windows 10 for the VX6!

    Works right out of the package -- no driver included -- with Windows 10 to program the VX6. I use either CHIRP or the original software to program this old hand held ham radio. I use a USB 3 port connected to my laptop and found this cable to always work. Great price compared to the original Yaesu!
