    I replaced a very damaged keyboard

    This was an exact fit to a the Dell Inspiron 1420. It is very easy to replace. You can get confused when you first try and attach it because it is so simple, you cannot overthink attaching it. It slips right in and "clips". All keys do exactly what they are supposed to and it is very durable and should last long as your laptop does. I keep this old Dell because it is reliable.

    different layout can be confusing

    Not the depicted Keyboard; the FN keys and other functions appear to work for the most part in accordance with the old keyboard layout, but I don't want to have to tote the old one around to know what combination I am actually going for.

    Easy and Simple Keyboard Replacement - watch a video first

    This is just a replacement and nothing more special that it looks new and all the keys work. Took less than 10 minutes to replace because the laptop was designed so 5 screws and a lever removed the old one. Dropped in the new one and locked cable down with lever, 2 screws locked down keyboard, and three more on the back and it was fixed.
