Excellent storage for the price and take little physical space
I got this external drive for a replacement of a backup for my computer. Speed was not a concern for me to have a RAID system or a USB3.0 connection. What made me choose this drive was the amount of storage space for the price, and it is designed to be laid down. This allows me to place the drive underneath my laptop which has a stand. This maximizes space for my desk. The other benefit of this enclosure is that the drive is fairly quiet, it will not bother you while it is being run up. I also appreciate the light being away from the front so the light will never bother you during light intense work such as photo editing. There are some other other external drive models that include USB 3.0, or have bundled software. I was one to use my chose of backup software. I also notice that this ... Get you're Massive Multi-TerraByte Drive ASAP! You won't be dissapointed!
Purchased as a backup drive for every other drive on my computer. I purchased this drive because it is a Western Digital and it is the #1 drive you need when you need reliability. The 3 TerraByte size speaks for itself! The only downfall I found from purchasing this item is that it didn't come with any backup software, that's cool though because you can either use Windows back-up or download Western Digital's program, I purchased Acronis myself for around $20 and it is sweet. However, you don't have to use it for back-up, it comes pre-formatted for Windows so just plug in the power, plug in the USB, and it will show as an extra "Removable" drive. Pile your stuff in it! Oh, and did I mention the PRICE? Less than $50 bucks a TerraByte!!! Yeh Baby...Purchased as a backup drive for every other drive on my computer. Excellent external drive with near silent performance
I bought this drive to store my ever expanding catalogue of digital media. With HD movies and TV series, storage space has become a major issue. This one though can take it all. Not only is it 3 terabytes of size, but it is also fast on transfers and pleasantly silent! I have a history of owning WD external hard drives as well as other brands, including a 2.5 inch model and 2 3.5 inch ones, and never have I heard the WD drives make noise. To me, a drive that delivers performance without causing excessive spinning and scratching sounds, is a perfect choice.I bought this drive to store my ever expanding catalogue of digital media. Huge drive, excellent price
I'm exceedingly happy with my new drive. Its easy to use and you can hook it up via USB in seconds. I am considering buying another one or two of these. Great for: Consolidating files. Backing up data saving shows for watching later. The list grows. Highly recommend

It is worth the money

The other is that I'm addicted to audio books and have managed to fill up my computer. This external drive helps me to store everything off of my computers. It doesn't take up much desk space, the transfer of data is relatively quick and now my computer runs better and I have peace of mind knowing that everything is backed up.
