A GREAT series featuring a great cast. One of the Best Limited series I have ever enjoyed. Right up there with Justified, The Sopranos, and Breaking Bad

Damages - Season one
Bought it to view before the new season started. The show is disjointed and slow moving. Numerous flashbacks to reveal what happened to the main characters are filmed noir style. There are no characters to cheer for in this show. You must ride the wave to understand the motivations bending each character and there are a lot of them. Glenn Close is fascinating to watch but we have see this lying type of character before (Fatal Attraction). Ted Danson is good for someone who doesn't even smile in this show. After seeing this show, it appears that Fox loves the word "Shit". They can say it on cable while network tv cannot. (yet). Unfortunately, the truth about lawyers using people to get what they personally want (wealth, power, applause) is the staple of why they will lie, cheat, abuse, ... Damages, Season One
I can only assume that most people who have seen Damages started from the beginning. I did not. I started watching this show at the beginning of Season Two. I recently purchased Season One, sure that I would like it just as well as Season Two. Honestly, the First Season starts off a bit slow, but warms up rather well. Glenn Close and Rose Byrne are amazing actresses, and there's no better treat than these two in one show. The writers have also done a great job with well seasoned writing, as opposed to over the top fiction. Damages achieves a great balance between intensity and believabilty. Intriguing legal thriller!
This series opener promises to be enthralling and lives up to the promise. Glenn Close is marvelously devious and under-handed. Her protege, Rose Byrne, is intelligent and independent. The interplay between the two characters is as much a part of the intrigue as the plot. Well done!
