Great Pictures, Great Price, and SO easy to use, couldnt ask for more!
I love this camera!! It is easy to use, has great features and takes outstanding pictures. I purchased this camera to take pictures for my business and I couldn't ask for anything more. It is not as compact as some of the other point and shoot cameras on the market today but in my opinion that doesn't take away from the appeal of this camera at all. This is a camera that is within most everyone's budget and you don't have to be a professional to take great pictures. I have always used Kodak cameras before this but this Cannon Powershot SX120 IS is so far above any Kodak I have had I don't feel like they are even in the same league. I would buy this one again and recommend it to anyone looking for a great easy to use camera on a budget!I love this camera!! It is easy to use, has great features and takes outstanding pictures. I purchased this camera to take pictures for my business and I couldn't ask for anything more. Upgrade from the Canon SX110is
Add 1MB to the CCD, make the program easier to use but don't change the layout of any buttons or switches and you have the Canon SX120is. One of the best small format cameras that has the programming and capabilities of most Digital SLR's for 1/3rd the price. The shutter program is from the Canon Rebel series and rivals that of my Nikon D80, the lens is as sharp adn the 2.8 maximum aperture combined with 10MB CCD and an Aperture Priority shutter setting means you can actually take a low light photo that looks fantastic. I print 8x10 enlargements on my Epson 7800 that awe my clients and have had several of my site photos used on websites and brochures to sell the high rise buildings that my Structural Engineering firm designs. It runs on 2 AA batteries, so you in a pinch you can rob your ... Only objection is the built in flip up flash is too close to the top of the body to properly light Macro shots and the ability to 1/2 or 1/4 the flash power would be appreciated but for $199.00 I'm happy. I recommend that you install a screen protector on the 3" screen as a year of life in my side pouch resulted in s serious number of scratches to my SX110is. The chassis is glass reinforced plastic and will take a moderate amount of abuse but the design of the zoom motor and lower body rign around the lens is reason to set the power saving program to lens retract 1 min after shooting. A good whack on the lens ring at the body and you are into a repair that cost as much as a new camera.

A Brief Review by an Advanced Amateur SLR Guy
I clung onto my Canon SLR film camera far longer than most. With some guidance from my son who has the Canon digital SLR camera, I chose the PowerShot SX120 IS as my first digital camera. Having now taken over 150 images, I am very pleased with the camera's performance. I find the compact PowerShot SX120 IS with its versatile 10X optical lens can replace a bulky SLR system. One has to adapt to the digital photography practice of composing and editing their images on the computer after the shot rather than through the lens of the camera beforehand. While the camera allows for the manual selection of scene type, I am pleased with the performance of the camera to automatically select scene type in 'Easy' mode. The addition of Image Stabilization results in sharp clear ... I clung onto my Canon SLR film camera far longer than most. I have three gripes concerning this camera: rapid consumption of batteries, lack of a second strap mount, and the lack of filter mount (as I would like to use a polarizing filter from time to time). All in all, the camera is a great value, and I do not know of an alternative that I would have preferred.
