I spent more time adjusting the rubber arbor that holds the shafts than putting the lathe together. Seller is very nice to deal with, answered questions promptly. If you’re just looking for a way to install tips this lathe is worth it, but you can do so much more than tip installs!!

The lathe can handle the majority (80% ~ 90%) of common repair jobs such as: cue tip installation, standard ferrule replacement, shaft/dent smoothing, sealing/buffing/waxing, among other repair work. I have not yet done linen wraps. I have not yet found a way to replace phenolic tips, due to the lack of a cross-slide, carbide cutting tip, etc. In short, this is a useful lathe to start your hobby (or career) in cue/shaft repair!
