Bei dem Apple iPod touch 3. Generation, auch unter iPod touch late 2009 bekannt, handelt es sich um einen MP3-Player mit einem Multi-Touch-Bildschirm sowie einem ARM Cortex A8 833 MHz Prozessor und 256 MB RAM. Mit ihm können bis zu 30 Stunden Musik wiedergeben werden. Für die Konnektivität wird durch WLAN, eine Kabelverbindung über USB 2.0 und über Bluetooth gesorgt. Der iPod touch bietet 32 GB Speicherkapazität. Weiter verfügt das Gerät über Zusatzfunktionen wie eine Sprachsteuerung und Voice-Over Feature, mit der eine Tonaufnahme einer Stimme über eine andere Tonaufnahme gelegt wird. Auf dem iPod können auch Spiele installiert werden.
