This game I purchased for my children, I do not let them touch the 360, so they asked me for some help on a certain level. I got sucked in at once. The game has a fantastic feel to it. very easy controls, easy to navigate, and a fun experience. The game follows the star wars series pretty closely as far as story goes, but adds in puzzles to add more of a challenge. I think any star wars fan old or new will enjoy this title. I knock one star off for it being too easy. not really a fault, because its great for children.
I'm including my Star Wars (episode 1-3) review here, because so many of the same elements apply. They made 2 even better by not sticking to the same mold: "This is a fun, lighthearted almost tongue-in-cheek take on the StarWars Trilogies. If you enjoy the Lego movies at Lego.com, you will get a kick out of the humor in this game. The fact that the characters are Lego figures instead of being human emulations really tones down the violence (your kids probably do worse with their own legos or action figures!). This game had easy game control (easy enough for both my six year old and my non-gamer first-time use of the controller), but combined it well with good challenges (enough to satisfy the 9 year old family gamer - although, perhaps, a teenager might expect full use of the controller). The very, very best part of this game is that it is a legitimate two player game with drop-in/drop-out capabilities. This is by far the best two player game that I have seen - not a split screen, not a turn taking, nor network, but legitimately two player!!! We've had this game for months and still have puzzles to solve even though the kids completed all levels. [BTW we also have Lego Star Wars 2 - the Original Trilogy and this review applies to that game as well - there are some differences in the actually game play that really make them two different games, not just two different stories - and they are both good - the kids would play for as long as we would let them]. Oh, and it doesn't make me motion sick. "Read full review
My 8 year son enjoys all the lego video games for the PS2 and PS3. This title is several years old and the graphics are noticeably dated compared to more recent lego PS3 titles. Nonetheless, as soon as I gave it to him he proceeded to complete the entire story as soon as he could.

This LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy PS2 game has my young grandson's full attention. They love it! It is easy enough for them to understand, yet challenging enough to keep them interested in solving the obsticles and levels. They learn math, reading, and problem solving - all while getting to blow up stuff! In the game they must collect 'coins' to purchase different enhancements and characters, so the boys have learned how to work for and to save their 'coins' to 'purchase' the items they really think is beneficial to their strategies. The game is also set up for either 1 or 2 players so the boys can play separate or together. The characters are rated G. There is no gore or negative language and the characters are not scary or suggestive. However, I would give the game a PG rating since it does have violence since blowing up things and the enemies are the goals of conquering each objective. I fully recommend the game. The boys had the other Star Wars Lego PS2 game which they loved and unfortunately was broken. So, I'm getting them a new replacement because - after all - it too is kid tested and nana approved.Read full review
The puzzles are minimal and simple. The building is automatic (a bit of a negative). The story is fun. I especally like the ship flight controls. It's all simple.

The favorite game of my kids from my old PS2. Unfortunately our original copy developed a scratch making it unable to work. Thankfully this economical copy came to the rescue.

I bought this game for my little brother Bonner. He is only seven years old and loves anything that has to do with Star Wars. He loves watching movies and also playing games related to Star Wars. The game has great graphics and the quality of the game is excellent. I would recommend this game to anyone who loves Star Wars. I give two dumbs up.
Graphically, Lego Star Wars II is a step up from the original. Also, with an extra, you can also use your previous save (Lego Star Wars I) with all the characters for Free Play. The game also has a heavier dose of Lego humor (is that a good thing?) Really, how many backflips does Luke need to do before he catches his lightsaber from R2D2? The only problem that I have with the game are that, while using the co-op mode, the game will automatically drop your buddy out if he gets to far away from you. The Star Wars theme gets a little boring since you can't skip the mission/chapter objectives at the beginning like you could in the first game. With all of the good aspects, the low points are hardly noticeable. A slew of extras, characters and bonus levels makes this a definite 5/5 stars.Read full review
My 8 and 9 year old have recently been introduced to the Star Wars Saga. They loved the original Star Wars movie and that is what makes this game so much fun! It is true to the story! There are 2 ways to play, story mode and free play. Story mode has you follow in the footsteps of the Star Wars heroes. Play Princess Leia as she trys to avoid being captured by Darth Vader in the opening sequence, then rescue her as Luke Skywalker etc...It's a blast to watch the story unfold in Lego fashion. In freeplay you can utilize any charater int he game. Darth Vader, Luke, Leia etc...and replay the game using any or all of the characters. This also great game play as only certain characters can unlock different 'hidden secrets' during the game. I highly recommend it!
I remember playing this game in 2006. This game is very nostalgic and I’m very fond of The Star Wars Franchise and Legos in general. Thank you so much.
