When Evelyn (Kate Beckinsale), a beautiful Navy nurse, meets dashing ace Army fighter pilot Rafe (Ben Affleck), the two fall madly in love, only to be separated abruptly when he is called upon to help fight the war in Europe. Unforeseen circumstances lead Evelyn into the arms of Danny (Josh Hartnett), another fighter pilot and Rafe's best friend since childhood. In the meantime, the Japanese military is planning the surprise early morning raid on Hawaii that will pull the United States into World War II. Spectacular special effects vividly recreate the attack in devastating detail as bombs explode, torpedoes shoot through the water, and bullets fly, shaking tranquil Pearl Harbor to its core. Bay deftly captures the patriotism and the loss of innocence of the young men and women who were suddenly thrust into the war. Cuba Gooding, Jr., Jon Voight, Alec Baldwin and Mako also star in this tribute to both the fallen and the survivors of one of the most horrific tragedies ever to occur on American soil.

Pearl Harbor
Pearl Harbor is a fast paced, (but long) movie that depicts the events leading up to the attack on Pearl Harbor and the time immediately thereafter. Chose this video as a good example of a reenactment of this tragic but landmark event in American history to help my son understand more than the words on a page describing World War II. Terrific acting and very interesting story along with the main theme of Pearl Harbor.Pearl Harbor is a fast paced, (but long) movie that depicts the events leading up to the attack on Pearl Harbor and the time immediately thereafter. Hollywood's Pearl Harbor
Using real events as references, this fantasy story is spread out over the opening days of WWII. Outstanding photography - especially the special effects (!!!!) and music but the actors were limited by the script. It seems that the writer tried putting too many historical events together in one place and then tried tieing them together with a storyline. Enjoyable to watch but don't get the idea that this is a historically accurate movie. This movie is in a NTSC VHS format and was issued in 2001.Using real events as references, this fantasy story is spread out over the opening days of WWII. I really like this movie. It portrays historical events as well as including a story of a long-time friendship and a love triangle. There is action as well as romance. I don't normally enjoy war movies but the scenery is beautiful and the script is well written. I believe the actors did an excellent job portraying the characters, fully evoking a wide range of emotion and loyalty to the characters. This is an excellent movie which is appealing both to men and women.I really like this movie. It portrays historical events as well as including a story of a long-time friendship and a love triangle. There is action as well as romance. I don't normally enjoy war movies but the scenery is beautiful and the script is well written. Pear Harbor (2001)
This is an excellent movie with a great cast. The special affects are superb. It has just the right mix of action, suspense, and drama- while at the same time giving a rather accurate portrayal of the historic events. This movie is highly recommended!
