Mystery of the Crystal Portal: Beyond the Horizon continues the saga of Nicole Rankwist, who spent the entirety of the original Mystery of the Crystal Portal searching for her missing father. The good news is that she found her dad alive and well in a mysterious floating world, but the bad news is that there doesn't appear to be any way to get home. In order to advance through each level, players must complete a series of small tasks by collecting hidden items and using them to do things like fix broken machines or unlock doors. There are seven unique locations to search, each containing multiple screens and puzzles, and a "Casual" mode is available for gamers who prefer hunting for objects at a leisurely pace.
