"This is an updated, modernized, and expanded new edition of a great classic published for the first time almost 50 years ago. It is well written and easy to follow without compromising its sound anatomical knowledge. Reading this book should strengthen medical students' motivation for learning anatomy and satisfy their interest in clinical medicine." --Doody's Book Review Service

Synopsis
The fifth edition of Lachman's Case Studies in Anatomy is a thoroughly revised edition of a popular collection of 50 anatomical cases. Each chapter starts with a clinical case presentation, followed by diagnosis and therapy and then an extensive discussion of the anatomy that is relevant to the case. The patient presentations provide the history and physical examination findings in a format consistent with that which the student will utilize in clinical training. Diagnostic and therapeutic procedures that are discussed have been brought up-to-date and are consistent with current medical practice. Cases represent clinical encounters required in clerkship curricula. This should allow students to draw from this book throughout their four years in medical school. The scope of the book has been expanded to include embryological development by including three new cases of developmental abnormalities. Many new figures and have included many diagnostic images including radiographs, CT scans, MRIs and ultrasounds. To help the reader feel confident that the major anatomical points have been mastered, review questions and answers have been added at the end of each unit., Lachman's Case Studies in Anatomy is a thoroughly revised edition of a popular collection of 50 anatomical cases, covering all major regions of the body. Each case study includes the patient's history, physical exam results, diagnosis, therapy, and a discussion of the findings from an anatomical viewpoint. the gap between anatomy and its practical application to patient care by demonstrating anatomical reasoning in clinical settings.

Mistakenly ordered a paperback that I thought was a hardcover, not sellers fault; it was described properly on the listing. Seller still processed a refund the day I went to return the item and let me keep the item anyway. A+++ service. Book arrived quickly in great condition and for a great price. Thank you so much! Amazing seller!

The book goes into a lot of detail, but I found myself wanting to understand the correlation between the patient presentation and the cause, so I was actually engrossed in the reading. That is saying a lot for an anatomy book.
