A great book that is helpful for both the beginner trapper and the expert. This book has outstanding advice on matching the right trap (whether leg-hold, coni-bear, or snare) for each kind of furbearer. There are species-specific instructions for making the perfect sets. It also has tips for preparing and marketing pelts to maximize profits. In "Guide to Trapping," Jim Spencer gives strategies for successfully harvesting popular species such as raccoon, muskrat, mink, otter, beaver, coyote, gray fox, red fox, bobcat, skunk, and opossum. It covers trap styles and the basics of establishing and working a successful trap-line. These field-tested techniques will help trappers make sets that deliver maximum results.

I loved everything about this. It explains everything in great detail. I definitely would recommend this guide to both the novice as well as the most seasoned trapper because everybody has an area that they are not an expert in.
I bought this book just to see more info on trapping. Had a week or so and got around to reading it. Did not put it down..This would be good reading for novice and or professional trappers. Sugest to all to read this Doug I
