      Terrific Story

This is my second read through. The first in the 80s and now 35 years later. My impression is very different today than 35 yrs ago. The basic similarities to Stephen King's The Stand cannot be over stated. However my main complaint is Maccammons extreme overuse of the word 'snapped'. Sometimes 3 times on one page! Drives me crazy. Fingers, turtles and rice krispies snap. That's it. Still an enjoyable epic post apoplectic story with a lot of heart. I bought the paperback and the cover and back totally fell apart. It's OK tho bc I bought it for the story.

    • One of my favorites

At almost 1000 pages, reading Swan Song can seem daunting. But it's totally worth it! Once you start, it's hard to put down! Compelling throughout, with a satisfying conclusion. I only wish Mr. Mccammon would write a follow-up novel and let his readers know how Swan and the world fares in later years... One of my all time favorite books!

    • Better than Stephen King's "The Stand"

I used to own bookstores in the 80's and I sold a ton of Robert McCammon's books. This is a thrilling novel with rich characters and although I love Stephen King's "The Stand", "Swan Song" is even better. If you want a book you can't put down, get this one! I even bought it again because I had lent my copy to a student and never got it back! I don't wonder why.

    • A steal !

I’ve been looking for Swan Song in hard cover for years. Most are out of my price range. This retired library copy was an incredible find. Although there is some wear along the edges of the front and back covers, the binding is still tight. Smaller than the other novels in my collection, but well worth the price! Beyond happy. Shopping was qiluick and the package arrived nicely bound with no damage. Very pleased.
