Good Playing & Sounding Flatwound Strings.

I've installed the strings. I Can't Use Anything Else But Flatwound Strings, To Me The Standard Strings Is Like Playing With Sandpaper. I just play this Bass about twice a month. My Peavey Foundation Bass, The E String (#4) Is To Long For This Bass. But I Had A Set Like It Before And It Would Break. But It Was Also A Different Name Brand. So Far This String Hasn't Broke Yet. That's The Only Thing That I Have Any Complaint About This Set Of Strings. I WILL CONTINUE TO USE ROTOSOUND BRAND ON BOTH OF MY PEAVEY ELECTRIC BASS GUITAR'S, THANKS ROTOSOUND !

  • It's a matter of taste

but I've been using these strings for many years on a 1987 G&L SB-1 bass. The sound never fails to satisfy. Before stringing them up take a minute to wipe the strings good with a soft dry cloth and they will feel great right off the bat.

  • Bright deep flats

Brighter sounding flats than the labellas for sure. Still has deep bass. The sustain is remarkable. Have these paired up with a custom wound set of domingers on a p bass. hard rock is where these excel. Phil Lynott's bass tone is spot on.

  • Roto flat wounds strings good value

In using round wounds, I would get squeaks from finger noise when doing pull offs. With flat wounds, I no longer get the annoying noise - make practicing more enjoyable. Wish i had made the switch sooner.

  • Flats on a Marcus Miller Jazz Bass

Tone is good but I prefer old strings so I'll probably like the tone better as they age. Same with the texture - a bit sticky right now will probably smooth out with age. String tension is the only issue I have with these. The G and D strings seem to have much higher tension than the A and E strings. Actually I thought the same thing about D'Addario Chromes.
